We want you to get to know the highlights of both our history & heritage and everything there's to experience nowadays. You'll get to see the highlights you can't miss as well as some lesser-known spots. You'll be able to image how life was in the middle ages but we also load you up with recommendations for Bruges these days! Where to grab a delicious Belgian waffle. Which chocolate shops are the best for pralines. We'll share our restaurant recommendations based on your budget. And of course, we'll tell you where to get the finest Belgian beers (at a fair price). We'll cover about 3km. The tour is fully wheelchair and stroller accessible but do keep in mind that Bruges mainly has coble stone streets. This is a Free Walking Tour, which means you only pay a small online booking fee up front. At the end of the tour you can decide for yourself how much the experience is worth to you.

You will join me in my workshop in the heart of Old Bruges and learn to handmake your own sterling silver ring. During our time you will have hands on experience of forging, shaping and finishing your own silver ring. First you will choose which finger you would like the ring for, measure your silver and cut to size using a handsaw. Next you will choose from a wide selection of hand stamps to add a custom message onto the inside of the ring. This could be a name, date or your favourite beer! You will learn how to hammer the silver into a ring shape using mallets and a triblet. I will then heat and solder your ring while explaining the process of heating and joining silver together. Next I will show you how to add textures and markings to your ring. This is your unique ring and your time to really show your creative side! The last step will be to choose the finish and polish; this could be highly polished to add some sparkle, a satin finish or even a rough forged look to your ring. Finally you will have your own silver ring to keep, handmade by you in the Heart of Old Bruges, a fabulous and unique way to remember your trip to our magical city. Other things to note No previous experience of jewellery tools or working with silver is needed to enjoy the workshop and make a ring. We will use 925 sterling silver for your ring. We have a safe place to store luggage

During this 2.5-hour workshop you’ll learn how to temper chocolate and, from it, craft 2 types of Belgian chocolates. Pralines: The most famous Belgian chocolate, consisting of a delicate chocolate shell with a creamy filing. You’ll learn how to make both the shell and the filling from scratch! Mendiants: Chocolate discs studded with dried fruits. Crispy and delicious! You’ll make at least 30 chocolates, which you can either eat on the spot or take home to family and friends. With our easy technique and chocolate theory, you’ll be able to make your own chocolates once you return home! NOTE: we take up to 20 participants per workshop due to the popularity of this activity, you work at 2 or 3 participants per chocolate machine . This give you the possibility to discover the wonders of Bruges from a completely different angle. From the boat, you can admire secret gardens, authentic views and romantic corners. Don't miss the unique beauty of this city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The guide will give you advice on bars or the well-hidden gems that challenge you to stray off the beaten track. We'll surprise you! After two hours you will have plenty of ideas to enjoy your time in Bruges in a great way.

We start at the centre of Ypres. From there we depart on a tour around specific landmarks of the Ypres salient of the First World War. First up are the old fortifications of the city. Built over the course of several centuries, the fortifications around the city were formidable and are still quite relevant to the story of Ypres. Second is the Essex Farm Cemetery to visit the field hospital bunkers and the place where the famous "In Flanders Fields" poem was written. Then onward to the Yorkshire trench and dugout. A preserved trench in the middle of an industrial zone that shows how history and society recover from such horrors. As we continue along the frontline we come across more cemeteries of varying size, each an indication of a battle that took place in the direct vicinity, until we come to a bunker in the middle of a field. This bunker was the largest German bunker of the Ypres Salient, and together with 6 other bunkers in the area shows just how well the Germans had dug in the area. Following this bunker system we reach Houthulst, which was another German stronghold on top of one of the highest points of the area. We finish at the German cemetery of Langemark to highlight the German side of the war, which is often overlooked. Finally we return to the city center where the guests can continue to the In Flanders Fields museum if they wish. Other things to note Are you booking a tour with middle- or high-school students, and you're afraid they might not be interested? I can take care of that. My experience as a high-school history teacher has showed me how to cater this information for a younger generation.
