I will be teaching you how to make 3 different types of pasta from scratch, how to incorporate a healthy twist into each one, show you how to make a delicious sauce using ingredients already in the pantry. We'll meet at my home in the backyard. My urban garden was created 10 years ago when I bought this property on the northwest side of Chicago to keep honeybees. I am passionate about supporting the environment and became interested in honeybees after attending a lecture from a local beekeeper. My dad told me that my grandfather and he had kept bees and in the olden days, beekeeping was as ordinary as gardening. Now, I work tirelessly every year to keep honeybees healthy and pollinating the forests and gardens. We will go on a tour of bee forage (food for bees) and observe the hive activity. You'll see the life of a beekeeper in the current season and I'll explain how bees communicate, grow and slow in the winter. Also, you'll learn the role of the queen, drones, workers, nurse bees and foragers. There won't be any honey sampling because I believe in the decommodification of honey bees and their work. * If you would like to book a custom day & time, please message me and I maybe able to create availability for your group. This may not be the right experience for guests with past history of allergic reactions to bees. Stings are very rare, but always possible.

You will be using a coal-fired forge, treadle hammer, tongs, cross peen hammer, and anvil, along with a 2"X72" belt grinder. We will be hand-forging a railroad spike into a beautiful and functional knife. We will start by firing the coal forge and drawing out the handle with the treadle hammer. We will twist the handle and start drawing out the blade. Once we have a handle and blade formed we will "quench" the blade to harden it. We will use the grinder to put an edge on your finished Railroad Spike Knife. Fall in love with Chicago's captivating nightlife one dance floor at a time! We will start the night at Joy District one of the many unique, early venues in the city for pre-game and drinks . Later in the evening, we will move to one of the fully immersive, world-renowned late-night nightclubs like Soundbar, Tao or Spy bar. On any given night you will be treated to an up-close in personal experience with touring artists, Chicago's top DJ's, performers, and host. Drinks and Vip express entry are included at all 3 venues for the night.

You will learn the basics of forging iron with a coal-fired forge. You'll meet me at my shop, and with a hammer in hand you'll learn the basics of blacksmithing. You will square, taper, twist, bend, scroll, and flatten the metal into your unique wall hook. Other things to note This is a rustic hands-on work experience. Be prepared to get dirty! upon entering Aroma Workshop in Chicago's Lincoln Park guests are given a card to indicate which scents from our "Scent Bar" they like, then a friendly Perfumer expertly blends scents on tester strips for the guests to sample. When their favorite is picked it goes into a choice of 1 oz. bottles. BOTTLE IS INCLUDED Also, we're are BYOB, so feel free to make it a little event. :) You'll have the appointment time for anywhere between 45min to 2 hours depending on your group size (45min for groups of 2, etc.). Each guest will go home with their very own piece of the mural to remember their night. 2. Upon entering guests can relax and enjoy our ever changing gallery. Feel free to bring a beverage. It's BYOB! Guests will unleash their inner street artist on a 50ft wall! This interactive workshop will turn guests into the artist and be guided along the way. Experimenting with lettering, stencils, aerosol, & cap technique guests will experience something truly unique. 3. Our main objective is to break down stereotypes that often are connected with spray paint. Guests will leave with curiosity and basic skills when applying aerosol to boot.

You will use a 2"X72" variable speed belt grinder to establish a primary bevel.  Next, you will choose from a selection of handle materials (scales), ranging from exotic hardwoods to composite materials. micarta, You will shape and form your scales to fit your grip and liking. Next, you will finish your scales and prepare for assembly. You will create a high-quality, fully functional knife or blade that you will be proud of and use for years to come.
