Cornerways is a period fisherman’s cottage in the heart of the Anchorage in West Mersea. It has three large bedrooms, two doubles and one twin. It has a downstairs double bedroom and bathroom. It is a period property and the stairs are fairly steep and narrow. The waters edge is just across the road and is ideal access to the water for paddleboarding, kayaking, crabbing and swimming, however some tides do come up to the property boundary wall and can flood the parking area for a short time.

A beautiful large farmhouse, dating from approximately 1600 and listed Grade II, in acres of idyllic gardens and overlooking a mile-wide river estuary. There is direct access from the bottom of the garden onto the ‘sea wall’ along the river, for walks and wonderful birdwatching. There is a duckpond (fenced) by the house and chickens (collect the eggs), and a large summerhouse with veranda in the garden, as well as a paddock of alpacas!
