We can accommodate up to 2 adults. Children aged 0–6 can stay free of charge when sharing existing bedding with a parent. ・Extra futon: ¥2,000 per set ・Baby futon: Available free of charge Families with young children are very welcome at UTATANE. ◾️BBQ You can enjoy a BBQ in our garden for ¥3,000 (tax included), available from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. We provide a BBQ grill, cooking grate, charcoal, tongs, outdoor table, and chairs. Please bring your own food and drinks. ◾️Laundry There is no washing machine in the guest house, but we offer a wash-and-dry laundry service for ¥500 (tax included) per basket. Please feel free to ask us if you would like to use this service. ◾️Food & Groceries There are no supermarkets in Okutama. The nearest convenience store is about an 8-minute drive away, and there is a small local shop about a 10-minute walk from UTATANE where you can buy drinks, alcohol, instant noodles, ice cream, and a few other items. Within walking distance, you’ll also find a popular kamameshi restaurant and a trout fishing area that serves light meals. However, most places nearby close by late afternoon. We highly recommend buying your dinner ingredients, snacks, and drinks before arriving, especially if you plan to spend the evening relaxing at UTATANE. ◾️Surrounded by Nature UTATANE is a private guest house tucked away in a quiet mountain village—the kind of place that might make you wonder, “Is this really Tokyo?” You can hear the gentle sound of the river nearby, and in the morning, you may wake to the sound of birds singing. This is also a small residential village where our neighbors live, so we kindly ask guests to avoid loud parties and music. At night, we hope you’ll let the sounds of nature take center stage. We intentionally do not have a TV in the guest house. UTATANE is a place to enjoy the luxury of doing nothing—put your phone aside for a little while, listen to the river and the breeze, and simply slow down. ◾️A Little Note About Insects Because UTATANE is surrounded by abundant nature, you may see insects in the garden and around the property. We do our best to prevent them from entering the guest house, but because this is an older traditional Japanese building in a natural environment, it is not always possible to keep them out completely. If you are particularly uncomfortable with insects, we kindly ask you to keep this in mind before making your reservation.
