Known for traditional boat rides steered by a single pole, the gorge offers stunning seasonal views and hosts events like the “Tea Ceremony Boat” and “Boat Izayoi Concert.” Our property is a whole traditional house 5 minutes’ walk from JR Geibikei Station, surrounded by nature. In summer, enjoy peaceful rural landscapes; in winter, snowy scenery. Listen closely, and you may hear birds and frogs.

Free parking for 2 cars is available. • 11 min drive to Morioka Station • 9 min drive (or 24 min walk) to Aoyama Station • 9 min drive to Morioka IC • 3 min walk to Sakai-bashi bus stop Shops nearby: a grocery-selling drugstore (2 min walk), a convenience store (3 min), a large supermarket (11 min), and Kitsunehora Hot Spring (15 min). Each room features a spacious double bed.

A very quiet environment in the mountains,you can see the beautiful starry sky.Relax on the large wooden terrace.Have a great time with your friends and family.There are air conditioners,home appliances,cooking utensils,and tableware in the room. Located in a quiet villa area. It is not a suitable place for a lively party, such as a group party. 山の中のとても静かな環境、美しい星空が見えます。大きな木製のテラスでリラックスしてください。友達や家族と一緒に楽しい時間をお過ごし下さい。室内にはエアコン、家電製品、調理器具、食器あります。宮城蔵王国定公園内の別荘地蔵王休養村内にあります。グループでのパーティー等、にぎやかに過ごすのは不向きな場所です。

Share Village Machimura

This is an old thatched house built in 143 years ago. The family that has lived in the house for generations has protected it, but it was planned to be demolished because of the financial issues in 2014. In order to preserve the original landscape of the satoyama for the next generation, we revitalize the house as a membership guest house. However, the activities were stopped due to the pandemic. In June 2024 we reopened the house as a private accommodation place (rental vacation house).

Obara Cottage Inn:surrounded by green forest

　宿泊施設は山あいにある築40年になる昔ながらのたたずまいを残している古い和風の一軒家です。和室8畳１間と10畳2間の広々としたスペースがあることから家族旅行あるいは親しい友人同士のグループ旅行に適した間取りです。もちろん、お一人様のご予約も承ります。予約された滞在期間中は他のゲストは受け入れませんので気兼ねなくお過ごしいただけます。ただし、各お部屋の仕切りは襖だけなのでそれぞれのお部屋はプライベートなお部屋としてはご利用できません。300坪の敷地内に建てられた住宅のため、隣家とは離れているのでご近所に気兼ねなく滞在できます。夏の期間中は前庭でバーベキューや花火などに興じることも可能です。もし、星に興味をお持ちなら晴れた夜には保有する光学機器で星空もご案内いたします。日中はドローンを使って庭先の上空から周辺の山々を空中散歩することも可能です。ここは都会では決して味わうことのない静かで自然豊かな環境と岩手県の遠野と共通する南部地方特有の古い伝統文化を今も色濃く残した地域です。なお、11月1日から翌年3月19日までの期間は冬季休業とさせていただきますのでご理解ください。

Homestay in the land of last samurai！

It is a home stay at a private house in a quiet residential area. An artist in her 60's and two cats live in a Japanses style house. You are wellcomed as a member of the family, so we can cook and chat together. If you like, I can help you with sightseeing, kimono dressing and instract creating Japanse Paper art. You can enjoy the snowy landscape and natural hot spring in Winter too. If you can cook together, breakfast will be served. I hope you can have an unique stay in Japan.

平屋で広々として明るく静か。8畳の和室とセミダブルのベッド2台の寝室がある。和室も布団を敷くと寝室にもできます。 A spacious guest house adjacent to the host's house with a lot of light. There are a Tatami room that can be used for a living room and/or bed room and another bed room with 2 full size beds. A private bath room and private entrance for the guests. There is a cute kitchenette equipped with a sink, electric water boiler, refrigerator and microwave. The living room is equipped with an A/C and space heater.

Samurai house, Beautiful, spacious house located in the center of the city. Easy access(3 mins walk) to the Samurai house district, 5 mins walk to the Cherry blossom spots and the train station. Next to our guest house,there is a Traditional restaurant ,you should try that. 武家屋敷のメインストリートまで徒歩3分、桧木内川まで5分さらに徒歩2分のところにコンビニや宿泊場所すぐ近くには70年続く地元の郷土料理のレストランもあり存分に観光をお楽しみ頂けます。敷地内に無料の駐車場も有り無料の自転車も3台貸し出ししております。さらに人数関係無くワングループオンリーですのでストレスフリーでご宿泊頂けます。

This is a new cottage built in 2022. Entering the chic house with black exterior walls, the stone hallway leading to the high ceiling living room will make you forget your everyday life. The outdoor bath is surrounded by trees, and in winter you can enjoy a relaxing snow view bath.
 Enjoy private theater in the living room and bedroom with a 100-inch projector screen.
