You never know what animals you'll see on a hike here (turtles, deer, owls, turkey...). The 1.4 mile mulched lake trail is fairly flat and beautiful. The Garnier Ridge and South Cove loops will get your heart pounding.

Edwin Warner and its neighbor, Percy Warner, have great hiking trails! There are paved hikes, but I like the ones that have changes in elevation. The blue trail (2.5 miles) is my favorite for its variety, though others swear by the 4.5-mile red trail.

A beautiful park close to downtown. Always packed with sunbathers, frisbee players, and walkers and bikers on the great paved trail that runs along the outside.

A bit of a drive, but never crowded with some great hiking trails. The Day Loop is beautiful and less hilly than some others in the area.

I don't frequent the Grand Ole Opry - I feel it's overpriced and repetitive. But the tour of the Opry house is probably the the most interesting I've taken in Nashville. Definitely worth the money!

If you brought kids along, the Frist Center is a must! They have a great interactive area with countless activities for all age levels.

Yummy, very reasonably-priced food right downtown. Don't be afraid by the line - they get you right through. We go here every time my parents visit. The chicken & rice soup and oven-roasted chicken are my favorites!

I love this place! I love the laid back atmosphere, amazing beers, yummy pizza and wings, and frequent special events. They're a local brewery and always have 15-20 specialty beers on tap! - some of which are crazy (but tasty) flavors like Fruit Loops. Go to hang out indoors or out, watch sports, or play the games they have.

The Harpeth is a great for a leisurely float on a beautiful day. There are several canoe and kayak rental spots in this area and offer a variety of trip lengths.
