Charlie Chaplin grew up here - it sells food and modern tat from around the world, a fully local market.
One of London's oldest markets...food veg and nothing like what's brick lane become
It's kaotic and a bit rough. £1 for 6 vegetable/fruit items in a bowl. Personally I haven't bought any meat or fish. It's quite crazy busy, very multicultural and cheap. Also loads of hardware stores, M&S, clothes, furniture, and some nice restaurants along Walworth Road including Turkish & Cheme Korean and Holland & Barrat, Coop, Tesco, Morrisons food supermarket.
