This is in a protected area of the Pyrenees and has some great skiing in winter, however in summer it is delightfully cool location and there are many splendid walks around.

The Bouillouses lake and its surroundings are a protected natural site, known throughout France and Spain for its rugged landscape and many lakes. At an altitude of 2,000m, the mountain lake is the highest lake accessible by road and chairlift in the whole mountain range.

Beautiful walks around a series of lakes. Free roaming cows and horses, great picnic spots, wide streams for paddling, amazing scenery - a must! During the summer you have to park and ride.

Beautiful lake and great walks in the area. Please note you have to park nearby and get a bus during the summer months as you are not able to drive to the lake itself. The bus runs regularly and provides and excellent service.
