Everyone should experience a drive on The Blue Ridge Parkway. The Parkway runs from Virginia all the way to Cherokee, North Carolina. Beautiful scenery all the way. Overlooks and amazing vistas the whole way. No big trucks are allowed on the Parkway and the speed limit is 45. This allows you to take in all the amazing sights that creation has to offer. Of course, there are exits all along the way to take in the art, culture, and crafts of the Appalachian and Smoky Mountains.

While you are in the area take advantage of seeing the Blue Ridge Parkway! There is an entrance just 20 miles from the home in Lexington. This is one of the most scenic drives in the country! Pack a cooler with some drinks and lunch and spend the day looking out over the mountains and small towns of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Incredible views and vistas from this historic Parkway, built by the CCC in the 1940s. Plenty of hiking trails. My fave is Sharp Top Mtn located at MM 86 and right next to the Peaks of Otter Lodge so you can fill your belly after a vigorous hike! There is also a side trail off the Sharp Top Trail to a Mitchell bomber that crashed in the 1940s.
