Hassan Tower or Tour Hassan is the minaret of an incomplete mosque in Rabat, Morocco. Begun in 1195, the tower was intended to be the largest minaret in the world along with the mosque.
The tower is part of a visit to a beautiful mausoleum and ruins. This tower is a minaret and is very unusual. There is also a great view of the Atlantic ocean from the site. If you are on a tour you are sure to stop here for a visit.
The tower, along with the remains of the mosque and the modern Mausoleum of Mohammed V, forms an important historical and tourist complex in Rabat.It was granted World Heritage Status in 2012.
