This is the closest pub that you could walk to from the back gate in about 10 minutes. It is also a nice place to go for some walks towards Boldre.

Right on the doorstep of the New Forest, grubs up!... restored, charming 16th century country inn set against the majestic backdrop. Home-cooked food and locally sourced seafood specials are the order of the day, coupled with a well-stocked bar of real ales.

Recently reopened and looking so much better since its refit. A good walk, or relatively quick cycle, from the annexe, this is a good spot for a drink. You can eat here but there are better food options elsewhere.
