Welcome to Ministers Island (Consquamcook), a 500-acre Maritime tidal island, a designated Canadian heritage time capsule and wildlife management park. Long occupied by the Peskotomuhkati (Passamaquoddy) First Nation; settled by Loyalists seeking a new beginning; and summer estate of the entrepreneurial industrialist, artist and Canadian nation builder, Sir William Van Horne. Experience a drive across the ocean floor, be amazed at historic architecture and period innovations, explore cultural and artistic displays and enjoy recreational activities along the scenic waterfront and forested walking trails. When the time is right, come discover our treasures!

This is the island that is seen from the patio of Shirecrest. It is accessible during low tide where you can drive across the sea floor and visit several historic buildings and walk the many trails. There is a fee to enter.

Drive on the ocean floor road at low tide to get there! Beautiful hiking (east level). Historical tour of house and barn. Give yourself 1.5-3hrs depending if and how much you hike.
