PARK OF NATIONS AND CABLE CAR Very beautiful area for walking or cycling, it's Parque das Nações. Immense, with many gardens and a kind of wooden sidewalk to walk on the Tagus River. There are special gardens - one of them is the water garden. The area is large and also has a cable car. In the middle of it all there is a shopping mall and a huge station - Oriente - which has buses, subways and trains.

Parque das Nações is a refurbished area along the Tagus River. Green parks with public art serve as a link between impressive contemporary buildings such as the Camões Theater and the great Lisbon Oceanarium. Nearby are trendy riverside restaurants and the glass-roofed Centro Vasco da Gama with shops and cinemas. Children's exhibits draw families to the Pavilhão do Conhecimento, while the Telecabine Lisboa cable car offers stunning views.

Oriente Train Station is here. Lisbon Newest area (this area was completely renovated for the World Expo in 1998 and worth a visit even if only to see the contrast from the historic part of town. Oceanário - Indoor Aquarium. Teleférico - Gondola lift by the river. Pavilhão de Portugal, Estação do Oriente, Ponte Vasco da Gama, Torre Vasco da Game (for architecture lovers). Walk by the river. Casino de Lisboa (Don't show up in shorts!).
