Small pub and dining with fish a speciality and a view facing west over the estuary for fabulous sunsets. Next village south from Drigg, about three miles. 01229 717230. theinnatravenglass.co.uk
Recently reopened after the pandemic The Inn at Ravenglass offers really impressive food using local ingredients. Grab a drink and sit out front watching the estuary - it’s one of my favourite things.
The local traditional country pub serving real ales to be enjoyed by the fire looking over the estuary.
Specialising in fish, the village pub is the only place in West Cumbria to make it in to the national food guides like Hardens. The menu is short, but always good, with meat and veggie options if you prefer. But this is definitely a pub, not a restaurant. There are always 3 or 4 well-kept ales, and a small, good value wine list. If you stand in the bar room, you will inevitably end up chatting to everyone else in there. Or sit outside in the summer for seaside ambience and the sound of clinking masts.
