The Bri Bri Waterfalls only cost 1,000 colones and are really worth seeing, especially on a hot afternoon! There are two waterfalls and a creek that connects them. It's a fun trip for the family and very affordable. They also have snacks and drinks that you can purchase, and provide walking sticks, which I highly recommend.

There are actually several waterfalls in the mountains of Bribri just a short drive from Puerto Viejo and depending on your desire to hike or easily arrive each of the falls is worth a visit. The water at the falls is always a bit on the chilly side so it’s a great trip to take on a hot day when the sun might be too intense for another day at the beach. For more information about which falls to check out and how to get there, ask Liz or Jonathan.

The Waterfalls and Indigenous Reservations tour takes guests swimming, hiking, and relaxing at the site of many of the area's most attractive waterfalls. Guests to the trip will also visit the Indigenous Reservation to learn about their arts and crafts, customs, and how to make organic chocolate. A medicinal farm and geological frog farm are also available.

If you are looking for some natural adventure, we recommend a trip to the Volio Waterfall in Bribri. It's a beautiful 15 m waterfall hidden in the rainforest within the Bribri Indian Reservation. After a nice hike through the rain forest you can enjoy a bath in the wonderful water. Volio waterfall is located at the end of Calle La Unión. Halfway the road changes from asphalt to dirt road once you enter the rainforest. The parking spot of Volio waterfall is well signed and here you will meet someone who can eventually bring you to the waterfall.
