The name of this bistro leaves little to the imagination, and while the cosy space on the edge of Greenwich Market also serves charcuterie — which hangs from the ceiling — cheese and Champagne are the main focus. Although served in those annoying conical flutes, the Champagne is sensibly priced and available with a selection of sharing boards. Service is quick and friendly, the décor is quintessentially French and the creamy, Burgundian Brillat-Savarin is a must-try.

Though technically not a ‘restaurant’ per se, we couldn’t compile a list of the best restaurants in Greenwich without mentioning this gem, which featured on our list of reasons to visit Greenwich you never knew existed. Whipping up cheese boards with charcuterie and various different types of bubbles, Champagne+Fromage is a great spot in which to put yourself in a food coma after exploring all of the borough’s sites. Sharing boards are the most popular thing here and they come with a choice of up to five different hard and soft cheeses, charcuterie meats, olive tapenade and mini gherkin cucumbers. Other things on the menu include a truffle-infused baked camembert, oozing raclette on a bed of potatoes and salted caramel canelés – come on, you’re here now why not spoil yourself? Wash all this down with a glass or two of fizz or an ice-cold negroni
