Tualatin is known as "Tree City" - The Tree City USA designation is awarded by the National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters, US Forest Service, US Conference of Mayors, and the National League of Cities. Awarded to recognize communities that have proven their commitment to an effective, ongoing community forestry program based on Tree City USA standards. This year Tualatin celebrates being named a Tree City USA for the 30th time! The people of Tualatin have long seen the health of its tree canopy as vital to their sense of well being and the community’s well being.
