Close to the Downs, and handy for visitors to Berwick Church, Berwick village offers this friendly pub with a picturesque cottage garden. Harvey’s ales served direct from the cask and homemade pub food with meat from local farms and butchers, fresh fish and seafood from Sussex ports.

A very good pub which can be reached by a scenic, approx. 80 minute walk from Firle along the old coaching road (bridle path) beneath the Downs. Serves a wide selection of beers and food.

I love this pub because if it is a lovely day and Alfriston is busy, you will find a place here. And is on your way to the church Berwick church. A pint before facing God is always a good idea. The landlady is very kind and always friendly.
