Small well appointed kitchen with dual microwave oven, fridge, toaster, variety of pots and pans with tableware etc. Shower room and toilet, towels provided. Wifi, TV, DAB, central heating. Houndhead Barn is located in the heart of our delightful Devon village, Broadhempston, which is sandwiched between Dartmoor National Park and the beautiful South Devon coastline. The village is home to 2 pubs both offering great food and an award winning village shop with a wide range of local produce. The local town of Totnes is filled with shops, cafes and restaurants and has a national rail station. Broadhempston is near the A38 Devon Expressway putting Exeter and Plymouth within easy reach.

The room has its own private entrance, it is completely self contained and comprises of an entry room and an en suite bedroom. We are in the beautiful medieval "river and market" town of Totnes, home to many independent shops and eateries, close to beaches, Dartmoor and many walking and hiking trails. Our house is on a hill overlooking the town, with gorgeous views, and the high street is a 10/15 minute walk away.

Our newly built Shepherd's Hut is self-contained in its own plot at the end of our back garden with direct, private access down a path alongside our property. The hut lies on the fringes of Totnes, in a secluded location with views across fields towards Haytor. A welcome breakfast of bread and cereals is provided on arrival, with tea and coffee available. We are always available should you need tips on where to go or can leave you to discover and enjoy this area entirely on your own.

Ruby Retreat Shepherd’s Hut in Devon

Ruby Retreat is a unique Shepherd's Hut hand built in larch, cedar and ash by local carpenter, Peter Milner. His skilled design and craftsmanship gives Ruby a very special feeling. She is brand new for 2023. She sits in her own secluded position on a working Devon farm. The views over the glorious Devon hills are truly captivating. There is nothing to distract you from gazing at the fields, hills, woodland and distant church spire (well, maybe some sheep and lambs frolicking).
