El Waleed is good for a quick snack.
They have many good sandwiches and stuffed pita bread with falafel, hummus, haloumi cheese and good vegetables and salad. You can also get meat if you like.
The food at El Waleed is not too expensive and very tasty, plus it's a nice place to sit!

They have many good sandwiches and stuffed pita bread with falafel, hummus, haloumi cheese and good vegetables and salad. You can also get meat if you like.
The food at El Waleed is not too expensive and very tasty, plus it's a nice place to sit!
Drinks & Nightlife
Cro(codil), basically CRO is a very nice pub, super close to my flat. Friendly people hanging around and having chats.
For people who don't smoke and don't like smokey pubs - it's pretty smokey in there cause everyone is allowed to smoke everywhere. For those who don't care or even want to smoke - go check it out!

Parks & Nature
Definitely my absolute favorite beach!
It happens to be a bit full of people on a sunday walk.
But there is so much space that you can still find your own path to walk through the beautiful 'Gespensterwald' (ghost forest) without bumping in too many people.
Its such a beautiful place! With a wonderful forest on top of the (nit very high) cliff with a perfect view over the ocean.
And the beach is very nice and natural.
Definitely worth a visit and a walk through the forest!

Barnsdorfer Anlagen is a very nice park/forest to go for a walk or spend time in the summer. People play ball games, sit around on blankets, meet, chat or try crossing slacklines.
A great place to hang out in the sun or go for a walk at any other season of the year, meet people and enjoy the nature!
Arts & Culture
The 'Kunsthalle Rostock' sometimes has very good exhibitions - sometimes not. But a good thing about it is, that when you buy your tickets it's valid for one month.
So as long as it doesn't expire you can keep going to the running exhibition and check it out a few times!

Volkstheater Rostock is the state theatre of Rostock.
It's just a ten minute walk away from the flat!

The HMT (highschool for music and theatre) is a great place to enjoy culture, music and theatre made by young students.
They often have classic concerts in their big concert hall and impressing theatre plays.
It's not too expensive or even for free sometimes.
Besides the cultural program - the HMT is a definitely worth a visit. It's an old convent, a very beautiful building. And the atmosphere there is special through all the music and theatre students that walk around there!

Barnsdorfer Weg is a little street around the corner that has many cute nice shops, selling any kind of stuff. Clothes, flowers, postcards, little gifts, art or second hand stuff and clothes. There are also nice cafés and restaurants in that street for having a break or a coffee to go!

Getting Around
It's easy to get away from the flat because the Doberaner Platz is just a 3 minute walk away.
There you can find trams and busses that take you around, to central station or to suburban railway stations!
