Food Scene

Cabbagetown offers a cross-section of international cuisine at an affordable price range. Our recommendations are based on the establishments we have grown to love and are part of our neighbourhood. Best of all... there are no fast food restaurants! (Except for Tim Hortons).
Some of the best pub food you will ever find... anywhere. Great beer selection and the food never disappoints. Classic British Pub with a twist. Most of the staff members have worked here for years and are usually a bit sassy with a good sense of humour.

Great Thai! Small selection, but each dish is a specialty. Best to order as take away as the dining space is small and loud. Plan ahead this place is popular and the spice is strong so choose accordingly.

This stock picture doesn't do the market justice. It's full of character and characters. The place to go for many of Toronto's ethic groups. a rustic alternative to St. Lawrence Market. Kensington is just north of Dundas and between Bathurst and Spadina. You are best to take the 12 minute streetcar ride

For something that is a step or two up from a standard pizzaria, check out F'amelia. Authentic foodie Italian with many tasty dishes and an excellent wine list. This is the most expensive of all the recommendations but well worth it and loads of character and atmosphere.

This is where Cabbagetown comes to buy their meat. Excellent butcher and sells local produce when in season. Great quality, ethically minded and operated but you will pay a little more than average- however it's worth it. There is a small deli on the north side of the shop that sells cured meats and cheeses along with a sandwich bar.
