The East Montague Business District – the Old Village to locals – has a traditional Main Street, with on-the-street parking and two-story masonrystyle buildings lining both sides. Many of the original buildings are occupied by new businesses that include small shops, a grocer, restaurants and bars, which contribute greatly to Park Circle’s vibrant night life. Streetscape improvements and the new infrastructure have revitalized this once economically damaged section of North Charleston.

Fresh baked bread and desserts daily. The Springbok coffee is so smooth you will question why you go to Starbucks! This coffee is roasted in Charleston. This is my favorite spot on Montegue! Service is wonderful...ask for Sandi!

Up the Ashley River are three major plantations that have survived the centuries and are open to visitors: Middleton Place Plantation was granted to Jacob Waight in 1675. The land passed through daughters until Mary Williams married Henry Middleton and began laying out the garden in 1741. Burned during the Civil War, the home also suffered significant damage during the 1886 earthquake and wasn’t fully restored for visitors until the mid-20th century.

Drinks & Nightlife

Convenient to Tanger Outlets and Mellow Mushroom. This place has live music, food trucks or both on the weekends. The only downside for me is the chairs at the bar have no backs. Within 5 minutes of our home.

Arts & Culture

The Essential Guide — Charleston, Savannah, and the Lowcountry acknowledged Charleston's status as an "art city" in its 2013 directory of premier travel destinations. In a piece on the Lowcountry art world, contributors Jordan Eddy and Ariana Lombardi wrote, "The Lowcountry of South Carolina and Georgia is no longer an emerging art market. Indeed, its art scene is now fully developed and established, with renowned galleries, studios, museums, cultural foundations, festivals, and artists of every description. Today, the Lowcountry can proudly and legitimately be considered one of America's top art destinations."
