In 1984, Louisiana Lagniappe in Destin was opened and established inside Sandpiper Cove condominiums. A loyal following was quickly based, in no small part, on the quality of the food and the attention to detail of the service. Since then, Louisiana Lagniappe has consistently served only the freshest seafood and steaks. The Gulf seafood, with a Creole flair, is prepared with attention to detail. The attire is casual, yet an upscale waterfront dining experience provides an excellent night out for the entire family. Open year-round, Louisiana Lagniappe is the spot for a memorable dining experience on all levels.
You can bring your wine for a $10 corking fee. If you want to split a meal, you are charged an extra $6 for double sides.

The name Crab Island makes you assume it’s an island. Actually, at one time it WAS an island but drifting sands from the Gulf of Mexico have eroded it over the years and now we are left with what it is today: an underwater sandbar and popular place to anchor your boat (rented or personal) for some fun in the sun. Although there is no actual land at Crab Island, the water is very shallow, ranging from 1-4ft in depth in most places, and at high tide is crystal clear.

Pristine white sugar sand beaches and more than 6,000 feet of natural scenic shoreline border the emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Shifting sand dunes and coastal scrub provide habitat for a wide variety of plants, birds, and mammals. Boardwalks provide access to the beach for swimming, sunbathing, and fishing. Six pavilions allow for picnicking and grilling. Outdoor cold showers are available for rinsing off after a day at the beach. A playground is the first stop on our nature trail and is sure to be a success with the kids. The nature trail provides visitors a rare glimpse of the coastal dune ecosystem and abundant wildlife and is pet friendly.

Destin Water Taxi pickup is behind Louisiana Lagniappe
The Destin Water Taxi serves you seven days a week from early spring to late fall weather dependent. Same-day pickups are via telephone exchange ONLY. Call ahead to pre-schedule your pickup time for larger groups or special events. Wait times can be anywhere from less than 5 min to 45 min depending on how busy we are at that particular time. Reservations for afternoon/dinner: Call by 11 am and leave a message.
