Can't beat a great Jewish Deli. This is as good as any NYC rival. Portions are generous and the food is very authentic. Every guest is treated to a bowl of half sour pickles at the table. Yum!

An antique community theater offering unique and mainstream shows. The theater is very comfortable and the plays are well acted and directed. I haven't had a less than wonderful experience there yet.

There is almost always a soccer game to watch. The park has three trails for hiking and many other scenic areas to play Frisbee or hang out reading a book. There is also a dog park with spaces for small and large dogs to play.

Thanks to skilled engineers with the former Hartford, Providence, & Fishkill Railroad, the pretty Vernon Rails-to-Trails overlooks ravines and streams and passes between rock walls verdant with ferns and lichen. Crossing a wooded terrain of hills and wetlands, it also provides a wonderful introduction to Vernon's varied neighborhoods. You may spot deer, and you'll surely notice the line of railroad-era telephone poles amid the trees. The Connecticut Army National Guard laid down the stone dust surface as a training exercise.
The Vernon Rails-to-Trails is also called the Rockville Spur of the Hop River State Park Trail, which runs mostly east-west. The trails converge at the main trailhead h
