Croy Shore is a favourite of ours, this lovely quiet beach is great for a picnic and watching the sunset. The coastal walk from Croy to Dunure beach is great on a calm day when the tide is out.

Heads of Ayr Farm Park is a must for a fun filled day out with your children. With over 80 species of animals, an extensive indoor and outdoor play areas, train rides and more. Be sure to check their website for any themed days and events.

Galloway Forest Park is a great location to explore, following the Carrick Forest Drive you will see great scenery of the Galloway Hills and Lochs and an abundance of wildlife including Black Grouse. There’s fishing available at either Loch Doon or Loch Braden, however you will need a permit for the latter. If you enjoy stargazing we recommend taking a picnic and staying until it is dark to enjoy the Dark Sky Park.

Alloway is also home to the local rugby, cricket and hockey clubs and so there is always a sports match to watch at the weekend. 27 Alloway is a lovely local florist and gift shop for any last minute gifts for friends and loved ones.
