See a punk, edgy side of London. Amazing places to eat and drink, an outdoor market, all round good vibes and scene and great links to Kings Cross. My fave thing to do here is to go to the Camden Jazz cafe - an eclectic mix of artists are on stage every night

Want to experience London like you are not in a fast paced city but instead a quaint English town? Then go to Greenwich and you will see why this lovely town was crowned a Royal Borough of London. Greenwich is known for its maritime history, and home to the Cutty Sark, a restored 19th-century ship. It boasts of a lovely classical architecture, small boutique stores, a food market and plenty of tourist attractions. You can head Greenwich park for a stroll and view of the city from the hill. At the top if the hill is also on the top of the hill, is also the Royal Observatory - the site of the Greenwich meridian line. At the northern edge is the National Maritime Museum and Queen's House. Check out the classical buildings of the Old Royal Naval College and to the east is Vanbrugh Castle. If you have your fill of the grand and historic sites in Greenwich, you only need to catch a bus to North Greenwich where you will see the modern O2 arena that sits on a peninsula. There is a shopping centre there, many restaurants, bar and games places. If you are feeling brave trek up the O2 dome then catch the cable car to Waterloo. I studied at the University of Greenwich [which is also beautiful - one of the best places for pictures], so I am a bit biased and passionate with this one :)

Food scene

Both a sight seeing destination and a food scene. You get amazing river views, an art scene [Southbank Gallery], check out the BFI if you are a movie buff. It is an entertainment and commercial district in central London, next to the River Thames and in close proximity to City of Westminster.

Only 15mins walk from where you are staying [if you are staying with me :) ] . A strip full of vintage stores, novelty chocolate shop [Dark Sugar], Food Market [Backyard Market], Jazz Bars [ninety one living room], Vintage store [Atika and Brick Lane Vintage], street art, Art galleries, art shops restaurants and bars and the biggest cluster of Indian restaurants you've ever seen [my fave is Meraz]. Suffice to say you can spend a whole day exploring Brick Lane and there will still be plenty to do The nearest tube station to Brick Lane is Aldgate East, but Liverpool Street tube and Shoreditch High Street overground are also within walking distance. Other nearby attractions include the green spaces of Allen Gardens, Spitalfields City Farm and Old Spitalfields Market for vintage clothes, antique furniture and vinyl records.

Borough Market is a London favourite when it comes to food. It is one of the largest and oldest food markets in London, with a market on the site dating back to at least the 12th century. It is one of the most renowned markets in London for artisan prepared food, and fresh organic produce.

Dubbed the spiritual home of the Caribbeans in the UK, you know this area is back full of warm vibes and amazing food options. Brixton is a lively, multicultural area with a down-to-earth vibe. Brixton Market offers street food and vintage finds, plus clothes and produce that reflect the area’s Caribbean roots. Casual eateries serving global fare line pedestrian-friendly Brixton Village and the Electric Avenue street. Brixton is also a hit for late-night revellers hit with celebrated bars and live-music venues scattered around. Some of my faves are O2 Academy Brixton for rock gigs, and Hootananny for cutting-edge sounds, Blues Kitchen [mainly for the live music], Pop Brixton [affordable delicious food].

Get down with the cool and trendy kids here. Only 10mins [on the Overground] or 25 mins walk away if you are staying with me. Shoreditch is home to some of London's quirky attractions like Brick Lane, Old Spitafields and Commercial Road. Shoreditch is an arty area adjacent to the equally hip neighborhood of Hoxton. Young creatives and trendsetters fill the fashionable clubs and bars that surround Shoreditch High Street, Great Eastern Street, and Old Street, while an eclectic dining scene features everything from trendy chain restaurants and smart gastropubs to artisan coffee shops and noodle bars. Vintage and design shops are plentiful

Escalator Etiquette

Some commuters like to walk on the escalators and others, if not in a hurry, prefer to stand. To blend in with Londoners, stand on the right side of the escalators leaving the left lane for those walking. This is particularly important at train stations, especially during rush hour
