One of my favorite local places! They have a beautiful outdoor patio. I recommend the veggie burger, truffle fries, and seitan wings. There is a rotating beer list featuring local beers on tap. (They have wine and cocktails, too!)

My favorite place to get takeout! They are about a 15 minute drive, and they do deliver! This is really excellent Scezhuan food. It may be a bit spicy for you if you're not used to that. I love the dry pot tofu, dry pepper tofu, and General Tso's tofu, along with veggie fried rice and spicy cucumbers.

An excellent local restaurant and microbrewery. They have a beautiful outdoor patio, and takeout is also an option. I love their Presto Bianca and margarita flatbreads. The falafel sandwich is also an excellent choice!

The best brewery in Philadelphia. A super chill local spot with a huge outdoor beer garden. Very family and pet friendly! Check their social media for upcoming concerts and other events! They have rotating food trucks, and Deke's Barbeque is right next door, so you can grab food and bring it over to the brewery.

Excellent local coffee shop! The pastries are outstanding. I recommend the pistachio and "Queen Bee" croissants, any danish they have, gluten free fruit and oat bars, and the savory bakes. There are two High Point locations in West Mount Airy -- one on Carpenter Lane by the co-op, and one on Allens Lane by a train station.

A really wonderful juice and smoothie shop! Great for breakfast (they open at 9 most days) or lunch. A go-to is the Green Juice #1 with a Morning Glory muffin. The sandwiches are excellent, too!

My favorite coffee in the neighborhood. Whether a cold brew or a latte with gorgeous foam art, you can't go wrong. The bagels and treats are always good, too.

This ice cream is to die for. A local, woman-owned spot with hand-crafted flavors. Some of my favorites include Black Magic (coffee ice cream with chocolate cake mixed in) and Lemon Buttermilk. Really, you can't go wrong, though.

The best Indian food in the neighborhood. My favorites are paneer tikka masala, malai kofta, and dal tadka, with samosas and garlic naan. You could do takeout and eat it at Pastorius Park -- just a suggestion! :)

Great little spot to get a coffee and bagel before going on a hike. I like to sit outside, and usually see some delightful wildlife -- several types of birds, squirrels, chipmunks, etc.

Great place for Ethiopian food! I always get the vegetarian platter. They also have a small market with pantry items and necessities to browse through while you're there.

Spectacular hiking trails that will make you forget you're in the city. Valley Green Inn is a really good starting point with parking.

An absolutely serene spot, great for a picnic. Note that many locals bring their dogs here to run around, and sometimes they will run up to you. There is an excellent free concert series in the summer on Wednesday evenings.

Really spectacular, and definitely worth a visit. There is so much to see, from a bird's eye overlook, to manicured gardens, to a miniature train set, and seasonal installations. There is a paved walking trail that guides you through the arboretum.
