It is a short drive to decent hikes / walks, the closest is Leckhampton Hill and the Devils Chimney route which is only 5 minutes drive, here is a link to a walking route around there.

Devil's Chimney

More locally, in town is the Honeybourne Line, this takes you to Pitville Park via the old railway route, the Cheltenham Street Art Festival uses this route so there is lots to look at along the way before you get to the Park where the original Pitville Pump room has a good coffee stop https://www.cheltenham.gov.uk/info/33/parks_and_open_spaces/547/honeybourne_line. If you go the other way towards the railway station you get to Deya Brewery which is well worth a pit stop if your group have an interest in craft beers https://deyabrewing.com/
