if you like to walk/trekking, then this place is great, not to hard but will get your heart rate up, takes about an hour to get to the top where you can see the abandoned site of where the first radio transmition took place to Rome. Plus fantastic views. You also pass Cala moresca beach where they have just filmed the live action remake of The Little Mermaid.

in the hight of summer this is where the VIPs dock their super yachts. Nice to walk around and see some of the biggest yachts in the world. Nice restaurants and bars, the prices here are the highest in Sardinia. You may see a celebrity or two.

Castle on top of a hill with great views. A few steps to reach the top but worth it for views of Olbia. Opposite you can also find the Tombs of the Giants, an ancient spiritual rock formation.

Small town in the mountains between Porto Rotondo and Porto Cervo. Few bars and restaurants, lovely old Sardinian buildings. If you go at sunset the surrounding rocks glow pink.

Amazing Islanda just off the coast of Sardinia. Drive to Palù and leave your car there and get the ferry over and enjoy the town of La Maddalena or you can get on the ferry with your car and drive around the island. It is very small but beautiful so even a bike would so the trick. You could also drive to Palù and do a boat tour of all the islands. I think this is the best way to see them as the water is unbelievable!

Olbia is the gateway to the Costa Smeralda. Town is more or less active all year round unlike Porto Rotondo and Porto Cervo. The new promanade has just been finished and is great to walk the length of the Port, especially at sunset with the island of Tavolara in the background. Full of great restaurants and bars. The historical centre is small but very pretty. There is a very beautiful hidden church just of the hight street called Chiesa Paolo.

Consejos para la ciudad

Facilidad para moverse por la casa

Would recommend a car!

I always recommend hiring a car as there is so much to see and public transport is not the best. There are buses but are not so frequent and often late. The trains are good but you are limited to the places which you can visit. There are no Uber taxis and the normal taxis are few and can be very expensive.

The beaches.

It's hard to find a bad beach here in Sardinia, they are all stunning. Some of the best and most famous are here in the North of Sardinia. A few are; Pittalungu (Olbia) Bados (Olbia) Porto Taverna (Olbia) Spiaggia Ira (porto rotondo) spiaggia sassi (porto rotondo) Spiaggia Bianca (Golfo aranci) terza spiaggia (Golfo aranci) cala moresca (Golfo aranci) Piccolo Pevero (porto cervo) spiaggia del principe (porto cervo) the list is endless!
Formas de ahorrar

Drink local beer.

Sardinian beer is cheaper like in most countries. The beer here is called Ichnusa, usually comes in a bottle. You can also get the non filtered one (Ichnusa non filtrata), which is my personal favourite bit more expensive than the normal one. In restaurants you can usually find the vino della casa. (house wine), which you can order by the litre, half a litre or a quarter. A cheap supermarket is called Eurospin, which you will find much cheaper than the Conad supermarkets which you may see around.
