Great pub atmosphere downstairs, especially on a sports night and a nice balcony / restaurant area upstairs with traditional pub meals, good beer. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to get here.

Excellent Japanese food and I recommend the Udon noodle soup. This is a nice small restaurant on the main street of Leichhardt, especially good for vegetarian or vegan options as well as some delicious sushi to choose from.

Very good Italian food just over the road from the apartment building, a nice place to celebrate birthdays or share a meal in a group.

This is a really nice local restaurant up the road a bit on Marion St. It's a good place to go if you like a glass of wine, warm lighting and delicious Italian food to enjoy.

This is an awesome local art gallery by Aboriginal Artist co-op Boomalli. It's located about a 5-7 minute walk up the block on Flood St, just off Marion St.
They've been running since 1987 and depending on the exhibitions you can have a think, feel, listen and look at contemporary artworks, fashion, fabric and prints, weaving, painting, videos and maybe buy something from the small bookshop/gifts. I highly recommend to travelers from within Australia and abroad.

Walking
Don't be alarmed by the title!
You don't have to run this bay, as it's a lovely place to walk near the water. I recommend heading down at sunset and having a look at the bay while the sun goes down, it's very pretty.
To get there, turn right when you leave the building, then right again down Foster St. Turn left on Walter St, right on Daniel St, then go under the brick tunnel to get to the park and canal. Turn right and just follow the canal all the way up to the bay.

The Bay Run
