Highly recommend this pizza place if you are staying on a Friday (they are only open one day a week.) It is extremely special. A hand built log cabin with indoor and outdoor seating. BYO drinks. Delicious pizza.
You must call ahead to book and tell them how many pizzas you want at time of booking. Phone number and menu is on the fridge.
About a 20min drive. You could go for a walk at Mt Holdsworth first, then dinner after.

Lovely patch of native and regenerating bush. Achievable bush walk of around an hour. A shorter loop of around 15 mins for young children or those with less mobility.

Pukaha Mt Bruce is a nature reserve north of Masterton. Great for a day trip. Nice shade and good for a picnic.

Queen Elizabeth Park is a great place to go to with Children. It has a large playground, including a flying fox, a lake with paddle boats, mini railway rides, mini golf. Across the road is a large swimming pool.
General shops, cafes and restaurants on the Main Street. Trocadero Cafe not far from the park on the Main Street is highly recommended.

Nice beach about an hour and 20 minutes drive away. Very calm surf with white sand. Achievable walk up to the lighthouse.
