So many good trendy restaurants to hit in Koreatown that are constantly changing. Plan to drive. It’s kind of spread out and not really walkable.

Once you find a parking spot, get out and stroll down the street. Just look for the lunch spot with the longest line. You won’t be disappointed.

Food scene

Not only is this spot the easiest and tastiest Chinese takeout from our loft, it’s also and LA icon. Tiny music venue, legit (but mini) bar and the quintessential red leather booths round out the scene. I love the sizzling rice soup when we dine in. The beef friend rice is a family favorite.

Our daughter’s favorite sushi bowl spot - which is good for us because it’s way less than taking her to a fancy sushi spot. They also have good sushi. Wendy likes the crispy rice with spicy tuna. Ken likes the salted scallop and the yellowtail sashimi platter.

Easy takeout ramen. Fully customizable. Super hip. Super delicious. The pork chashu rice is one of Kens favorites. We haven’t had a bowl of ramen we didn’t like from here but we haven’t ever tried the gluten free noodles.

The late Jonathan Gold’s go to Thai place. Make a reservation. You will not be disappointed. Parking is a little dicey so it’s worth it to get a ride.

Scott’s other favorite Korean BBQ spot, he calls this his “down and dirty” Korean BBQ which in Scott terms means 5 star food with a super casual vibe.
