Parks
Beautiful park moments from my house. Lovely for a walk or fun adventure
Take a walk around the park, take a trip on the pedal boats and then pop into the pavilion for tea and cake.

The giant slide, it’s £10-20 but you get to go on a ginormous slide that’s the equivalent to a few stories.

Nightlife
Places to go out, dance and have fun.
The best venue with a laid back, cool vibe. The live music on Monday nights for only a fiver is a must. You’ll see some of the best up and coming musicians in London.
It’s mainly a no-frills drinks affair but does 1 or 2 lush cocktails. And you can order food to come to your table from the many nearby spots like Mamas Jerk or Chickenish.

The best jazz musicians in London gather here every Friday and Saturday amongst a packed crowd of only those in the know. A true hidden gem.

Perfect spot for a date or low-key hangout with friends. An small, low-lit, basement bar with delicious cocktails and attentive service. Perfect for saying “I know a little place in Shoreditch we can go…”

The original cool spot in London. Some people may think it’s overrated, but it still has the cool, creative vibe that made it famous in the first place.

The most eclectic and artistic neighbourhood in London. Known for warehouses and artists spaces, as well the cafes and bars dotted along tthe infamous canal. Speckled with some great music venues, bars and increasing regeneration that has some locals saying “they knew it first.”

Food scene
The best vegan burgers in London, hands down. Even if your not vegan, these chicken burgers will give you reason to doubt it. The milkshakes aren’t too bad either!

Museums
The original brutalist architecture piece in the middle of London. Houses some of the most pertinent exhibitions, as well as a special botanical garden in it’s sky-high ceiling conservatory. But go say it’s just a museum or botanical garden doesn’t do justice to all the Barbican has to discover. Truly all-encompassing, with a cinema, cafe, bar and work spaces. Suitable for all - families, couples or a solo trip.

My favourite museum in London. A fun space with sharp and well-curated exhibitions on everything from electricity to mental health. Also has one of the best museums shops, that I sometimes come to specifically to get birthday gifts. Think bookmarks that double as dictionaries and red blood cell cushions. Also has a delightful cafe with an array of conical flasks as lightbulbs. Geek meets chic.

Everybody obeys queues
Often times you’ll find brits instinctively stand in a queue, even if they’re not entirely sure what it’s for! You will cause a raucous if you blaze through queues with reckless abandon.

Tea is an institution
I’ve had lots of people ask me if English people drink tea all the time….of course we do! Not in a weird way, it’s just a way of life. Inviting someone for a cuppa is just basic etiquette
Formas de ahorrar
Use your contactless bank card on the tube
If you’re here for a week or more use your contactless bank card on the tube as it automatically caps your transport spending to the same price of a weekly ticket (which is far cheaper than individual daily tickets). If you use an Oyster card it will not do this.

Museums are free
All museums are free and wonderful to go to. Some have paid exhibits but you’ll always find some things for free.
Qué debes empacar
Always carry a small umbrella
It is rainy in England. And you will often be caught unaware in a downpour so make like a true (organised!) Brit and always carry a small umbrella with you. You can buy this very cheaply when you’re here though.
Qué debes empacar
Bring a portable phone charger
You’ll often be out all day in London so make sure you always have juice on your phone.
