The association of the land with Sir Henry Parkes, an influential proponent of Federation, and its ultimate dedication by a state politician to commemorate Federal prime-ministers who have personally planted the oak-trees over more than 60 years give the park and its plantings significance at a state and national level. The Corridor of Oaks is fine example of a formal planting of oak trees in a local park. The simple arrangement of quercus robur makes a striking monument to the prime-ministers of Australia and contributes to the amenity of the immediate area.
