This is my favorite attraction in the area. Wonderful for couples, families with kids and friends. In 2021 they launched a new exhibit called "Guardians of the Seed" which is fantastic and well worth the visit. Make advance reservations as they have timed entry and have been known to sell out.

On Friday evenings, they have a Fish & Chips special for only $10 which is popular with the locals. We think the decor is cool - especially the bar on the 2nd floor which has some very cool nautical themed furnishings.

The Pemaquid Penninsula is gorgeous, and makes a nice full or half day excursion from Boothbay Harbor. Take in Newcastle/Damariscotta, Bristol, the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse (one of the most inspiring in Maine)

Rockland has a large, open waterfront, quaint shops and restaurants. Home to the Farnsworth Art Museum, The Maine Lighthouse Museum, and the Sail, Power and Steam Museum - this is a nice day trip.

Dog Friendly
The BBRLT trails are dog friendly and dogs can be off leash. They do ask that dog owners have their pets under their control at all times. This means dogs should not be running unsupervised or approaching other dogs and people. Ovens mouth is a great stop where you can enjoy the gorgeous coastline while letting your best friend romp and play.
