These guys roast their own coffee and it really is excellent. You can buy a coffee to enjoy immediately or purchase beans for grinding at home or ready ground coffee of all types.

A great variety of fresh fruit and veg as well as delicious general food items. There's a cafe and you can pick your own fruit in the summer which the kids always love.

City/town information

Crediton has a good range of small shops, cafes and pubs including some unique shops that you won't find on every high street. As well as a couple of supermarkets you can shop more responsibly in the local butcher, bakers and greengrocers shops and The Green House on the square provides all your healthfood needs.

Something for everyone

A great place for a general browse, they've got plants and gardening equipment, fish in tanks (kids love to see these) and aquatic equipment, loads of different gifts for adults and children, a small play area and good sized cafe/restaurant with a mini soft play area to keep the little ones entertained while you wait for your food.

Exeter has a great high street with loads of shops but it's definitely worth heading out of the town center and down to the Quay. There a scenic walks along the river on both sides, many pubs and eateries, quirky, crafty shops in the old customs houses. on the far side of the river there's a museum and Clip & Climb is great for young and old as well as a bowling alley. You can hire canoes and paddle boards from Haven Banks (give them a Google) to wend your way up and down the river for a beer or a bite at The Double Locks or a bit further on to The Turf Locks (it's also possible to walk and cycle to these).

A great place to pick up some wellies if the weather turns and to have a browse. There's everything from farm supplies to gifts, pet and equine paraphernalia, clothes and garden items too. There's also a basic cafe and you can buy fresh locally produced (on a farm just outside Sandford) milk from the vending machine in the car park.

Sandford's one and only shop in the middle of the village on the Square. You won't believe the range they have managed to fit into such a small space. This place is community run, often by volunteers and was fantastic during the first lockdown when they delivered to those unable to get out, sourced loads of new products and became a great place to bump into (not literally) and have a chat with others in the queue during that time. You'll find many locally made products of the food, beverage and gift variety.
