Salt Village is a large resort complex a short drive north from Cotton Beach (or a pleasant bike ride along the boardwalk). It features two hotels, a spa, mini mart, and numerous restaurants around a central green, home a to nice market on the third Saturday each month.
Of the restaurants, Fins is renowned for its high end seafood, there is also a pizzeria (good food, poor service though), Mexican (excellent), Thai and Indian restaurants, and the Salt Village Hotel for good pub food, live sports and an epic indoor play centre for the kids.

Located in the renowned Halcyon House hotel a short drive from the apartment, Paper Daisy is a fine dining experience in a refined but relaxed setting.

Farm and Co is a beautiful spot for breakfast, lunch or simply to enjoy the view and wander around a small working farm. The cafe and farm shop sell their local produce and vegetarian fare on an eclectic menu. Not much kid friendly food unfortunately, but the little ones will enjoy seeing the animals such as guinea pigs, pigs, cows and chickens, as well as pick their own sunflowers. Entry to the farm area is $5 for adults.

The best Japanese restaurant on the Tweed Coast. Great sushi and authentic Japanese food, well priced and in an informal setting. Can be very hard to get in to though!

Beach
Low tide is our favourite time to play on Casuarina Beach, right in front of the resort. You should have some good sized waves, but also a broad shallow protected by a sandbar for smaller kids to enjoy.

Between the long beaches of Casuarina and Cabarita are the cliffs of Norries Head, and tucked within it are the small beaches of Cabarita Cove. These are some of our favourite beaches, with rockpools, sandbars and great surfing to keep the whole family entertained.

Between the long beaches of Casuarina and Cabarita are the cliffs of Norries Head, and tucked within it are the small beaches of Cabarita Cove. These are some of our favourite beaches, with rockpools, sandbars and great surfing to keep the whole family entertained.
When the crystal clear ocean waters are coming in at high tide, head to the mouth of Cudgen Creek for some kid friendly swimming spots. You can park at the end of Marine Parade, Kingscliff and choose between the ocean beach or creek.
