This is a beautiful state park for light hiking. The trails are very mild and travel out along the seaside cliffs for beautiful scenic views of the ocean. There is parking in the park for $20 or free along the beachfront which can fill up fast.
Torrey Pines State Beach
This is a large hiking area with hundreds of trails to chose from. I recommend hiking Cowel’s Mountain trail. It’s about 1.5 miles incline to the top. Not too rigorous, but gives a beautiful view of downtown and you can see the ocean on a clear day.

Parque Regional de Misiones de Senderos
1 Father Junipero Serra TrailThis is a large hiking area with hundreds of trails to chose from. I recommend hiking Cowel’s Mountain trail. It’s about 1.5 miles incline to the top. Not too rigorous, but gives a beautiful view of downtown and you can see the ocean on a clear day.
This is a fun long hike if you start from lake Poway. From the lake is about 8 miles round trip. There is a shorter way to get to potato chip rock by driving up to it. It’s great for photos.

This is a beautiful area to take a gentle walk along the La Jolla coast line. You will see lots of seals and wildlife with breathtaking ocean views.

Del Mar beach is a fantastic beach to take your 4 legged friends. It has beautiful scenery and areas to play in the water with no waves.
