This is a truly astonishing restaurant, about 60bucks a head with wine it is not cheap but it is a unique food experience blending latin american flavours with Japanese cuisine it is a foodie favourite and a secret gem!

I both love and hate this place but I think I must love it more than I hate it because I keep going back. They do great scones, yes you will have it served with mixed spiced vegetables but that is why this place is soo utterly bizarre, there are no words to describe other than quirky and worth a visit.

Great on Open mic nights and lovely during the day because you can sit at the water. If you want to perform there you can, just request a spot! It is a great first gig in that everyone is soooo supportive

This is a slightly "grotty pub" but it is Kris' favourite place because of the pool tables, the music, the great beer, the great staff and the great area of town to be our in the evening if you want to potentially catch some live music.

We are good friends with the management here which made this one of our favourite haunts, it is a hostel so it is a good place to meet people but they also have a nice bar and much cheaper than grote markt across the road and often have live music, check it out.

If you love art this is a must see, not too big and you can sneak down a side street behind lange voorhout afterwards and find some great drinking spots and lunch cafes (although it is a little spenny) or go down to Plein.

This is an exceptional ballet group and as they are based in the hague you can see them really cheap (if you are under 27 you can get tickets for 10euro) Kris and I have seen at least 7 ballets by this group, once we started we were hooked, also the theatre is by the beach so it is a nice walk or cycle up there from our place.

Parks & Nature
The queen's garden - only in the Netherlands is it open enough a political culture that you can walk straight into parliament and straight into the queen's garden. This was my favourite spot to go and write short stories in the summer. Without condoning anything I have heard that many people also like to pick up a small jointje at the best coffee shop in town, Cremers (round the corner) and go here to enjoy the benefits, but I have only heard..... ;)
