An old burnt down bridge that connected Mt. Pleasant to Sullivan's Island by trolley. It is now a pier for foot and bike travel that extends through the marshes and creeks out towards the intracoastal waterway. It overlooks the Charleston Harbor and Historical Downtown Charleston. Great sunsets, bird watching and Crabbing. Can easily get there walking or biking from our Airbnb.

Built in an amazing 16 ½ months at Newport News, Virginia, YORKTOWN was commissioned on April 15, 1943. World War II’s famous “Fighting Lady” would participate significantly in the Pacific offensive that began in late 1943 and ended with the defeat of Japan in 1945. YORKTOWN received the Presidential Unit Citation and earned 11 battle stars for service in World War II.
