Canggu is a resort village on the south coast of the Indonesian island of Bali. It's surrounded by terraced rice paddies and known for beaches like Canggu and Echo, with strong surf. The nearby Seminyak resort area has high-end shops and restaurants. Just south of Seminyak, the beachside town of Kuta is known for its nightlife. North of Canggu, Tanah Lot is a Hindu temple that sits just offshore on a rocky outcrop. Bali's hippest hotspot Canggu is especially popular among digital nomads and expats, which is visible by the many modern villas popping up between the lush green rice fields and many new cafés started by people from overseas. Some have dubbed Canggu the 'New Seminyak'.

No expression in Balinese, funny but true !

When Balinese want to greet you, they mostly will say "hello" and "where are you from?" anytime even in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Coz fun fact is we are Balinese never express Good Morning, Good Afternoon, or Good Evening. Mostly what are we saying is 'where are you going?' to every person who we meet familiar or just know them. Where are you going in Balinese word is 'kije to?' For sure it seems like not your business to know where someone go, for other people or foreigner. But for us Balinese it is kind of intimacy, solidarity and companionship. :)

Appreciate people by their own way

Once you want to appreciate local people, usually you will say thank you. But you also can say 'Suksma' or 'Terima Kasih' or just simple 'Makasi' with sincere smile. I can say, it will stick in their hearts also.

Bali by a scooter? Prepare yourself well.

There some points to be noticed before you go by scooter. Yes it is easier & fun. But sometimes Bali’s roads can be a bit chaotic, and if you don’t take precautions, you may have bandage marks rather than tan lines when you return from your holiday! Prepare your licence, helmet, and skill !!!
