Dream Beach Club Phuket is a stylish, laidback place to relax and party right on Layan Beach. Part of the world-renowned Dream brand from New York City, it has 2 swimming pools, 4 bars, and over 100 comfortable sun loungers. Founded in 2015, Dream Beach Club Phuket attracts both partygoers and travelers looking to enjoy a relaxing evening. Its resident DJ – positioned above the swim-up bar in one of the pools – spins mostly smooth R&B, jazz and chill-out tracks. The focus at Dream Beach Club Phuket is on excellent live acts as it collaborates with UK-based house labels Hed Kandi and Ministry of Sound to host special parties. While the official closing time for the beach club is 8pm, a modest upstairs premier space – Level One – keeps the party going until late. On weekends, you might catch guest DJs spinning house, tech house, and disco music. The beach club has a Jacuzzi (for 2 to 8 guests) with a private cabana and round table, 6 VIP poolside cabanas, 17 VIP poolside king-sized sun-beds, 24 beachfront beds, and 24 pool beds. The price varies by season and event but generally starts from 4,000 baht, with the cost acting as credit for food and drinks. Dream Beach Club Phuket has an impressive menu of great international cuisine and signature cocktails. Must-tries include the fruity Layan Sunset (Tres Magueyes tequila, triple sec, ginger syrup, ginger mango chutney and celery bitters) or the sharp Dreamosa (Tanqueray gin, orange, Thai basil syrup, lime juice and sparkling wine). You can also find classic cocktails, high-end imported beers and popular spirits. Food-wise, you can enjoy salads, soups, pizzas, pasta, sandwiches, sushi, seafood platters, meat courses, and Thai food. Dream Beach Club Phuket on Layan Beach is around 21 km north of Patong Beach. It's a little out of the way for most of the larger resort destinations on the island, but well worth finding if you want to enjoy a different beach club experience during your holiday.

Catch Beach Club is a high-quality bar, restaurant and lounge spot right on the beautiful Bangtao Beach. With a superb beachfront location, excellent food and drinks and great music, it's one of the top chill-out spots throughout the day and a popular party venue at night. Belonging to the same brand as Palm Seaside, HQ Beach Lounge and Twinpalms Phuket, quality and class are absolutely assured. A well-established name in Phuket, Catch gained its notoriety on Surin Beach, but moved to the southern end of Bangtao and rapidly reaffirmed their reputation as one of the best beach clubs on the island. Boasting the unmistakable Catch style, you'll find indoor and outdoor dining areas, a large canopy-covered bar, sun loungers, a small splash pool and a selection of poolside salas. The food menu at Catch Beach Club offers a range of ala carte dishes from 11am to 11pm, with a snack menu available at other times. Top choices include the signature Catch Salad (containing crab meat, asparagus, avocado, fish roe and French dressing) and the rotisserie chicken marinated in a Thai-style sauce. There’s also a good selection of Japanese, Italian and Thai dishes available, among others. The beach barbecue buffet every Tuesday and Friday is also worth trying, offering a varied spread of high-quality food. The funky back-lit drinks menu is no less impressive, boasting a broad range of top-shelf spirits, liquors, beers and champagnes. There’s also a choice of signature and classic cocktails, available by the glass or by the jug.Naturally, the major attraction at Catch Beach Club Phuket is the availability of sun loungers and salas on the sand. They come with a free towel and are right at the back of the beach, in the shade of the casuarina trees and about 30 or 40 metres from the sea. While you'll need to buy a day pass to use either a lounger or a sala, the money is counted as credit for food and drinks. Beach massages are available, but these don’t use any of your credit. If you just want to drink and dine, there’s no entrance fee. In the evenings, the club really comes to life, becoming one of the more sophisticated night spots in Phuket. House and guest DJs play great chillout, nu-disco and techno tunes and, even though it’s not a small venue, it can easily get packed on a big party night. One of the classiest beach clubs in Phuket, it's widely regarded as a must-visit.

Bluesiam Beach Club is a very quiet and laidback seaside spot where you can chill out on Bangtao Beach. You'll find shaded cabanas, sun loungers and sofas to lay on, with the soft sand just a few steps away. A menu of well-made Thai cuisine and skilfully crafted cocktails makes this a great spot for those who like their beach days to be calm and comfortable. The beach club is difficult to miss from the roadside as it's constructed from old shipping containers, with a bright red classic pick-up truck parked outside, among the tall palm trees. There's plenty of space to park both motorbikes and cars about 100 meters from the club itself, with the distance meaning that there are fewer noisy distractions once you get inside. The setting of Bluesiam Beach Club is splendid; the entire terrace is right on the beach and is shaded by coconut palms. Much of the seating is in the form of stylish rattan sofas with white cushions and low tables. Adding to the atmosphere of the place, beautiful Thai statues are displayed throughout the property. Soft Latin music mingles with the gentle swish of the sea and the occasional spluttering of a local fisherman's boat engine. The menu is mostly Thai, with all the old favorites on it: spring rolls, spicy prawns with mango salad, pad Thai, green curry, and a lot of seafood dishes. There's a small selection of western dishes, including a few pasta dishes and steaks. The quality is impressive, especially the seafood, which is being bought fresh from the local fishermen.

HQ Beach Lounge Phuket is a chic and stylish beach club at the extreme northern end of Kamala Beach. Modest in size and scope, it has direct beach access and a few sun mats under the trees, as well as an impressive selection of drinks and classy cuisine in a cool, laidback setting. It's run by the same team behind Twinpalms Phuket Resort and Palm Seaside on Bangtao Beach, with the same level of luxury evident throughout.HQ Beach Lounge Phuket is just next door to Café del Mar Phuket, in a comparatively isolated spot on Kamala Beach. The nearest hotel is the Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach, located about 200 meters further along the beach. The beach club's centrepiece is its marble main bar under a large sail. The entire lounge has plenty of stools overlooking the surrounding woodland, adding to the sense of privacy and isolation. The choice of drinks available is impressive, including champagne cocktails, classic cocktails, flaming cocktails and premium spirits, as well as both draught and bottled beers. The back corner of the indoor section of HQ Beach Lounge Phuket has a wine cellar with an impressive selection of old and new world labels and champagnes. Café del Mar Phuket is a classy beach club belonging to the world-famous brand from Ibiza. It brings the sophisticated party atmosphere of its namesake to the northern end of Kamala Beach, with a high-quality setting and a great soundtrack of chill-out beats. The club has a rustic beach-hut-esque look, with a thatch-roofed main bar at its heart. To one side of it is shaded seating on comfortable sofas, while cabanas and large beds occupy a patch of sand to the other side. Behind the bar is an impressively large swimming pool, with single sun loungers and more beds and cabanas around it, as well as a poolside swim-up bar. There's also a restaurant nearby with indoor and outdoor seating. All seating options at Café del Mar Phuket can be booked with a minimum spend requirement – from about 1,000 baht for a single lounger up to around 40,000 baht for the big cabanas. These kinds of prices are not that difficult to reach, thanks to a drinks menu of high-end tipples including craft beers, luxury vodkas and great choices of whiskeys, tequilas, liqueurs, champagnes and more. The restaurant displays the same focus on high quality as the bar menu, with imported meats, oysters and recipes alongside classic Royal Thai cuisine. There's also a wood-fired pizza oven serving up a good selection of classic and signature toppings. Being situated right on Kamala Beach, Café del Mar Phuket is a great place to enjoy a few sundowner cocktails from the selection of classic and signature sips. There’s also a choice of Thai and international snacks available. The higher-than-average price range attracts a sophisticated but fun-loving crowd who enjoy smooth house music played by resident and guest DJs, accompanied by a live saxophonist. After your sundowners, there's a distinct shift in tone from an easy-going lounge venue during the day to a sophisticated party place at night. The Café del Mar brand is well-known for its long-running series of chillout compilations, especially focussing on Balearic beats, and this kind of music is naturally what you’ll find here. As a result, the party never gets particularly extreme or hardcore.

Iguana Beach Club is a small hidden beach bar with a cool chilled-out vibe during the day and great parties during weekends. Hidden in a cove between Patong and Kamala Beach, Iguana Beach Club is a relaxing hideaway playing house music until sunset and turning into a groovy club by night. Every weekend, Iguana puts on great beach parties organized by Groove Box, a group of well-known club professionals and friends. The beach is a perfect afternoon spot to relax and recover from last night party in those large beanbags scattered around on the sand, enjoying the unique atmosphere of a hidden creek. Drinks, cocktails and food are available all day, and when the sun goes down, the mood gets even more tropical: nothing beats a chilled drink with one of those Thailand sunsets and a DJ spinning progressively from Chill-out music in the afternoon to deep house beat later at night. It’s more intimate and more friendly than the large beach clubs found on Surin Beach and certainly has the right mood with a mix of funk, disco, hip hop & house music. During weekends, expect their parties to really blast you away with names such as Nakadia, NOIR, SuperFlu, Marco Loco, D.Ramirez, Sister Bliss(Faithless), Chocolate Puma, DJ Steek, Mr Mike, Cash Money, Steven “Lee’ Cabrera, Leeroy Thornhill and the list goes on… these guys know how to make your holiday special… and don’t miss the Full Moon parties! How to get here. From Patong beach driveway past Kalim Beach, pass Kalima Beach Resort and from there keep your eyes on the left-hand side of the road, 400 m further you should spot their road sign easily. There is surprisingly large parking above the club.

Kudo Beach Club is one of the latest beach venue on the island and with a unique location on the beach of Patong, it already has all the ingredients to quickly become one of the most popular beach club in Phuket. Phuket was once famous for its amazing beach clubs but most of them disappeared overnight. The trend is obviously back with this attractive new addition. The main success factor is probably the enviable spot, right in the center part of the famous Patong Beach, just few meters away from the end of the equally famous Bangla road, known as Phuket party street. If you walk down Bangla road, turn right until you reach Patong Surf House and from there aim to the beach. Kudo Beach Club is right on the sand, where the Patong Bay Garden resort used to be. The club has a well-sized swimming pool, 2 bars, a beautiful large sitting area and even a couple of restaurants (the rooftop Italian restaurant still to be open). I tried it twice and it’s a perfect place during the day to enjoy cool drink sitting a comfortable sofa, a cool lunch or dinner on the beach front. The music during the day is soft and just right to create a soft atmosphere, and gets louder in the evening as the party starts. The menu is quite extensive and well priced considering the location. a soft drink costs 100 baht, a Chang, Singha or Tiger 140 baht, a San Miguel or Heineken 160 baht. Cocktails rotate around 290 baht. All the price are +/- (which is the common way to say +7% government tax and 10% service charged).

Paradise Beach Phuket is just 4 kilometres from Patong Beach and consists of two small sandy bays with blue water, soft sand and coconut trees. You will find plenty of beach chairs, bars, restaurants, shops and massive parties on some nights. Yes, Paradise Beach is small, remote and not easy to find if you don’t know, but it is becoming increasingly popular, mainly since it hosts the now famous Phuket Full Moon Parties. Paradise beach used to be difficult to find, until a concrete road made it easier to reach. It suddenly became trendy as it is very close to Patong and it was a bit like discovering a secret beach. This Robinson Crusoe atmosphere is long gone, but Paradise still has a lot to offer. If the main beach gets too crowded for you, walk 100 meters to the left above a small hill, and a flight of stairs will take you to a surprisingly quiet sandy cove. If you ever explored this beach in the past, you will probably have a shock as the main beach has tremendously changed in recent years. It was always a bit crowded with a lot of beach chairs and a couple of restaurants, but it now looks more like a cross-breed between a village and a shopping mall. All around the beach are restaurants, shops, bars, stages, dance floors and more colourful shops. It’s not to everyone’s taste, and the entrance is not free, but it still attracts crowds. How to het: - On your own: From Patong Beach, drive south to the bridge leading to the well-known ‘Amari Phuket‘, and turn left right after the bridge. Then follow for few kilometres until you reach the ‘Marriott Merlin Beach Resort’ on your left and the nice Tri Trang Beach on your right. A sign pointing to ‘Paradise Beach’ a the bottom of the hill will show you to continue further for another 2 or 3 kilometres. The road is quite narrow, but nicely paved which makes it fairly easy (too easy). You will reach a large parking which can accommodate about twenty cars and a lot of bikes. From there a shuttle will take you to the beach (again it’s now all free). - By Shuttle: Look for the yellow truck at Jungceylon mall, it’s free and every 30 minutes (see map) 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, every 30 minutes 9:00 am to 4:00 am, every 30 minutes for the Full Moon Party

Baba Nest at Sri Panwa Hotel is the ultimate rooftop bar in Phuket. It is built high above Phuket Aquarium on the remote Cape Panwa, on the south-east of Phuket Island. It’s far, hard to find, hard to book as you can expect a two weeks waiting list to get a reservation, but it’s worth it. Once you managed to get a table, you will finally have a cocktail or a glass of Champagne and witness a glorious sunset over the Panwa Bay; you will very quickly understand why you went through this hassle. And when we say it is difficult to get a table, you can take our word for it. Let us describe how hard it was. The 1st time we naively drove to the gate, not realising how exclusive the hotel was. At the entrance we were asked if we had a reservation, which we didn’t. We were politely denied entry and advised to book in advance as the place was full. The next day we called, but Baba Nest was packed for the many days to come. We decided to stay at Sri Panwa Hotel and review both the hotel and the rooftop…. Seems logical, right? We booked the hotel weeks before and again naively assumed that, as guests, we would have no problem getting our Baba Nest table. Wrong! Few days before we had a doubt and called to secure one, just in case. Sorry, Baba Nest is full on the two nights of your stay. How unfortunate; but we can put you on a 3rd waiting list. Wow. But we took that waiting list. On the day we stayed at the hotel (which is fabulous), we walked there at 5 pm as they allow hotel guests who didn’t get a table to take photos only between 5 pm and 5.30, and while we were shooting, guess what: there was a cancellation, and we got our table! The Rooftop is a square platform surrounded by a water pond, overlooking the fantastic Panwa bay, all the way to Phang Nga Bay on the east side and Phuket hills in the west. Apparently, on some days go the year, you can even see the sun set exactly behind the giant sitting Big Buddha (but not on our day). At 5.30 pm all the guests arrive, sit on big cushions, order fancy drinks from the extensive (and expensive) drink list. Selfie sessions start at all tables until sun explodes in red and pink tones over the sea and the clouds. Everyone stops and stares at the incredible panorama. Baba Nest rooftop offers almost a 360˙ panoramic view, and wherever you look, it’s incredible. We even got a rainbow to the east while the sun was setting on the west. It can’t get better than this. Just as you can expect it in such a popular venue in a 5-star hotel, all prices are very high. You can order wines, cocktails or Mexican tapas (about 400 baht per). A glass of wine is 480 baht, and a glass of Champagne is 990 baht. Note that if you are an outside guest, there is a minimum spend of 2,000 baht per person, and the booking will be confirmed with a credit card authorization form, non-refundable. We had a truly fantastic and unforgettable evening, and it makes no doubt that it was worth all the trouble. And by the way, the hotel was excellent too, and the staff are all amiable and highly competent.
