Day Walk/Hike
Paekakariki to Pukerua Bay: 10km reasonably strenuous walk because of the steps, lots of steep steps (about 1500!), incredible views, reasonable level of fitness needed. Walk one way, get the train back the other. Dogs not permitted on this track. Not suitable for young children. I've done it a couple of times if you want to know more.

Paekakariki; walking and cycling tracks run from Paekakariki to Raumati South (approx 12kms return). Loads of walking options. Plenty of great spots for picnics. Dogs can be off lead if well controlled.
