First established in 1762, this use to be George Washington’s favorite hideout. It offers over 200 whiskeys, 130 craft beers and ciders, and a handful of signature and classic cocktails, and there’s live music on the weekends.

Neighborhoods

This great local hot spot is one of the most historic areas of New York and you can really see it in its architecture. Recently renovated, it now attracts locals that like to wander the shops and restaurants on the cobblestone streets. For great Italian, check out Barbalu, for great seafood check out Fishmarket, or grab an old fashioned ice cream at Van Leeuwen.

TriBeCa stands for “triangle below canal street” this is a hip neighborhood full of tiny cafes and eateries. Check out the cute “Tiny’s” or for great sushi, go to Takahachi. From our apartment, heading to Tribeca will take you straight through the World Trade Center and the Oculus, both must see landmarks.
