The Local historic hotel. You are likely to meet grapegrowers, winemakers and a wide range of locals and visitors. Bar, large garden bar with outdoor fireplace, separate restaurant, great views from their outdoor dining space. An extensive wine list. (Booking recommended.)

Wineries
Bannockburn is wine country, and Felton Road is in the centre of it. We have seven wineries, cellar doors and eateries on our little road! Felton Road is a no-exit road, so traffic is relatively quiet.
It makes for a great afternoons drive, walk or borrow our bikes to explore.
Our next door neighbour! You can walk 50m past our vineyard to visit this award winning Cellar Door. Bookings and your camera are a must.

Carrick is a favourite for several reasons. Aside from being a beautiful winery and having a fabulous restaurant, it is now part of the Dunstan Trail. They welcome bikers and walkers to their expansive lawn and covered outdoor area and serve wine, beer coffee, pizzas, scones etc.
At 5km from the cottage, excellent bike trail door to door, it's an easy way to enjoy another part of Bannockburn.

Walks
10 minutes walk from accommodation.
This track loops around the former Bannockburn gold field to provide a vivid slice of history and a most rewarding perspective of times gone by. The area was sluiced and mined from 1862 to the 1930’s with the remains of dams, water races, tunnels, stone walls, and channels to be seen. Towering cliff faces are all that is left of hills that have been sluiced away to find the precious gold.
Now this vast area is exposed to the elements and deserted except for walkers and cyclists enjoying the vastness of this landscape. It is a 3.5km, 2 hour walk. A must do.
