Arts & Culture

It's amazing! Well appointed, fun, fast. It's like walking into the old whaling days of Sag Harbor's historic past. The permanent collection will make you want to re-read Moby Dick (recommended before your stay!). It's is just small enough to get through in a morning or a rainy afternoon, but large enough to truly educate and even has its own lovely gift shop!

The Eastville Community Historical Society is a unique historical mecca for Sag Harbor's three intersectional cultures: Native Americans, English settlers, African American free laborers. They have regularly changing curated exhibits, but also offer tours and cultural and education events throughout the year. A phone call before your stay to arrange a tour or see what they've up to and when is always a good idea! They are also the site for events in the community like the annual COMPOSH Fish Fry and Harlem in the Hamptons. They are only a block away, so stop in!

A wonderful, modern classic, the Sag Harbor offers an enriching, eclectic mix of art and mainstream movies, special events, and a back-story that is itself film-worthy… A small-town cinema that’s the giant heart of Sag Harbor. https://sagharborcinema.org/films/sign-of-the-times/
