Panorama Mesdag gives you a 360 degree vista of the sea, the dunes and the fishing village of Scheveningen as it was in 1881. Step back in time and experience a unique view of our cultural heritage – the oldest 19th century panorama in the world on its original site. This cylindrical painting, more than 14 meters high and 120 meters in circumference, was painted by one of the most important painters of the The Hague School, Hendrik Willem Mesdag, with help from his friends.

The collection is housed in the former Winter Palace of Queen Mother Emma of the Netherlands. It is the only public building in The Hague where the original royal ambience of a palace has been maintained.

Popular beach area for the Hague locals. There is no direct access from the main road so best to go here by bike or on foot. There are two cozy beach bars open during summer. Bus 24 goes there, exit at Savorin Lohmanlaan and continue walking to the end of the street (15min). Don't enter the beach immediately but go left (south) and take the first possibility to enter the beach on your right.
