Food Scene
The food is absolutely amazing and very authentic. The atmosphere is top notch and most of the people have been on top of multiple 8000m peaks. You can't beat their lunch buffet at $12pp. Up until about 2 weeks ago, they had a Groupon running where you could get your food for half price. I'm not sure if they'll reinstate that, but the food is amazing with or without the discount.
My favorite is the chicken tikka massala and Esteban's is the Sherpa Stew. He swears that it tastes exactly the same as when he was on his way to Everest Base Camp!

Great food, very unique atmosphere. The owner, Fayahd, is from Syria and personally brought all of the unique interior over from Syria. The food is fantastic and their hummus is sold in local Whole Foods. We love the meat lovers plate with a side of garlic and add an extra salad to split between two people. They make their pita bread fresh on-site. Other things to consider: their mushroom appetizer, the chicken fattousch salad is also quite good.

Another Middle Eastern Restaurant very reasonably priced with good food. The pita is baked fresh and comes out of their wood fire oven in amazing fashion. The prices are a little better than Ali Baba and the food almost as good. Also, be sure to ask for the garlic side with your food.

Their breakfasts are quite good. What I like most is the fact that they bring out freshly made cinnamon rolls with every breakfast. Super yummy.. Just heard from one of our guests that there weren't cinnamon rolls this week--if they're not there anymore, I'm sorry.... :/
During holidays, they have a very good brunch (think Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day etc)

The original Woody's wood fired pizza. The thing to get here is the pizza / salad / soup buffet. For $12.99 you can walk up to the team making pizza and tell them exactly what you want and they'll make it for you! So... theoretically, you could have 5 different kinds of pizza! It's a fun place with good ambiance.

If you are into very classy and tasty food, you will enjoy Abejas. The owner and head chef has started several famous concept restaurants in Summit County. I think you'll enjoy the free "taste" -- they have a more fancy word for it, but that's what it is ... ;)

Great for tubing in the summer (the kayak shop on Washington across from the Mountain Toad rents tubes during the summer months), kayaking in the spring/early summer months. Hiking/biking along the trail. You can rent bikes by the Welcome Center very cheaply. It's fun, refreshing and very pretty!

Hands down, my favorite store. If you like a good treasure hunting experience, you don't want to miss this. There are MANY new items here of top quality. I've found Desigual, Athleta, Kuhl, high end jeans and much much more there... You never know what you'll find!
Wednesday is senior day and half price everything but one color tag. You can go find a senior and still get the discount! Store opens at 9am and closes at 6pm M-Saturday.
Friday and Saturday are half price for everyone.
*Some minor details* They only take cash and they don't have a dressing room. Wear a tank top and shorts or a skirt in order to be able to "try" stuff on over your clothes.

HIKING: We are 100 yards from the back trail head onto the mountain and super close to the climbing area. Take the back trail to the top of the mountain.. After the two sharp switches, go through the short tree grove up towards the Golden Cliffs. You will see one tree sticking up (like a lolly pop tree).. When the trail veers to the right, take that right. Go through the rocks and the short scramble section to recatch the trail on top!
ROCK CLIMBING: 100s of sport climbing routes from the Peery Parkway entrance. In my opinion, the routes are a little slippery since so many people like to climb there. Great climbing with great views directly above Coors Brewery. Ask us--we may even want to take you up there and lead a few routes for you!
MOUNTAIN BIKING: Nice intermediate trail for mountain biking. From our house, it's about 12 miles round trip depending on which loop you do. There are some mildly technical sections that you can hop off and walk through if necessary. We ride it all the time -- great exercise with fantastic views.
