Sightseeing
Get on the ferry and go to the bottom deck towards the city. Its an amazing view of the Financial District. Nothing much to do on Staten Island. I would just take the ferry round trip back to Manhattan (you'll have to get off the ferry and then get back on at the Staten Island dock).
