The PHS Museum tour takes you on a journey through Columbia's first historical flight of STS-1 through its last mission of STS-107. It also provides a glimpse of the recovery of Columbia and the Crew of STS-107, along with the two who lost their lives in the recovery efforts. This museum has many items and artifacts from NASA and its contractors, the families of the crew of STS-107, as well as from other individuals. The hours of operation are Tuesday-Saturday from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM and Sunday and Monday by appointment only (excluding holidays).

Servicing over 70 miles of rivers and streams in Louisiana, as well as the southern end of Toledo Bend Reservoir, they offer a variety of float trips ranging from 2 hours to several days of canoe camping. Excellent forest scenery along highways in all directions. Stands of Virginia shortleaf pine are seen south of Hemphill at community of Yellowpine via Texas 87, also on F.M. 2343. One of the finest stands of longleaf pine is at scenic roadside park about five miles west on Texas 184.History seems to seep from every crack and crevice in Sabine County. The courthouse square at Hemphill, one of the most unusual in East Texas, is surrounded by quaint buildings, antique stores and gift shops. The courthouse, completed around 1910, is one of East Texas' best known landmarks and its old county jail, built in 1903, is now a museum and library. On the corner of the square, domino players regularly gather beneath an ancient cedar tree.
